One short form, a light stick to the shoulder, 15 minutes of observation… and you’re out the door. COVID-19 vaccinations through Axis Health System may be fast and easy, but those needles inject a powerful sense of hope to end the pandemic.

As of April 2, 2021, the general public age 18+ can now receive a COVID-19 vaccination from Axis Health System. Vaccinations are free, paperwork is minimal and no identification is required. A new online scheduling form makes it easy to self-schedule a specific appointment time and place. For those who prefer to talk to someone by phone and have a chance to ask questions, appointments can also be scheduled by calling 970.828.2539. A comprehensive FAQ on vaccinations and other COVID-19 details can be found on the Axis website.

Since January 2021, Axis has vaccinated approximately 3,000 people at its locations in Durango, Pagosa Springs and Cortez. On April 2, Axis partnered with Fort Lewis College to use their Student Life Center as an ongoing vaccination clinic site. Regular clinics are planned for the future at various locations across Southwest Colorado as vaccine shipments become available. Currently Axis is primarily offering the two-dose Moderna vaccine which is open to all people ages 18+. Other vaccine types may become available in the coming weeks.
