San Juan Basin Public Health (SJBPH) and Axis Health System (AHS) are announcing an upcoming change to Title X services in Archuleta and La Plata counties. Effective January 1, 2021, Axis Health System will take over providing Title X services for both counties. SJBPH and AHS will continue their partnership to provide reproductive healthcare and expand access to family planning services in both La Plata and Archuleta counties. Both organizations are working closely together to ensure a smooth transition for current clinic patients.
The Title X Family Planning program offers a broad range of contraceptive methods and related counseling in an effort to reduce unintended pregnancy by ensuring clients have access to affordable, quality contraceptive and reproductive health services. Individuals who are currently served by the Title X Family Planning program will not experience a gap in services due to this change.
Both organizations are excited to partner to better serve family planning patients and provide comprehensive health care in one location. This will allow clients to receive their primary care, family planning and related preventative health services in one location, avoiding splintered care.
SJBPH will send letters to current patients to ensure there is no loss of service during this transition and will work with AHS to shift patients to the new clinic.
SJBPH will continue to provide routine and travel immunizations for children and adults, STI (sexually transmitted infection) screenings, HIV (human immunodeficiency viruses) screenings and Prep services, TB (tuberculosis) follow up, and breast and cervical cancer screenings through the Women’s Wellness Connection.
