Axis launches telehealth Crisis Services for mental health, substance use, and emotional concerns
For Immediate Release: February 27, 2020
Dove Creek, CO – Axis Health System is now offering telehealth crisis services at the Dove Creek Integrated Healthcare in Dove Creek. Community members can walk-in, Monday-Friday, from 8am-5pm, and ask for crisis services.
Telehealth is one of many free, confidential, professional, and immediate supports for any mental health, substance use, or emotional concern, 24/7/365. You can call the Axis 24/7 Crisis Line at 970-247-5245, the Colorado Crisis Line at 1-844-493-TALK (8255), or text TALK to 38255 to speak to a trained professional. If you need immediate support, call 911, and a trained Law Enforcement officer or EMS professional can help you, or a loved one access services.
If you aren’t sure how to handle a crisis or a situation that may lead to a crisis, don’t hesitate to call or text. You can call about anything in your life that you feel you need help with or want to talk about. Common call topics include depression, substance use, grief & loss, self-injury, suicidal thoughts, bullying, stress, parenting concerns, trauma, drugs & alcohol, relationship problems, family crisis, anxiety, domestic violence, homelessness, disability, concerns for a friend or family member, recovery support, and resource questions.
What to expect when you access support by phone, text, or televideo:
- It’s professional: You will always connect with a real person—no chatbots or automated replies. Each crisis counselor has a degree in a behavioral health field of study, and professionally trained peer specialists have gone through experiences similar to yours.
- It’s confidential: Conversations with you are confidential. We want you to feel safe openly sharing your thoughts, concerns, and needs with us. The only time we might reach out to others about our conversation with you is if we’re concerned for your immediate safety or the safety of someone else.
- It’s free: We want to make sure nothing stands between you and the support you need. Our crisis line services are free and available to all. We will never turn someone away, regardless of their ability to pay.
*Televideo services will be provided when appropriate for the patient. If a higher level of care is needed, the crisis team will create a plan with the patient and family.
