Who We Are

We are a growing number of rural citizens
and organizations coming together to support each other when encountering “rural stress” and these efforts are by Axis Health System. We work closely with Colorado State University, Rocky Mountain Farmers Union, Colorado Farm Bureau, the Colorado Department of Agriculture, and the Western Regional Agriculture Stress Assistance Program, and our local businesses who proudly display their logo on our marketing efforts, and give time and energy to support the Colorado Hay Initiative. It is our combined mission pull upon our individual strengths to build a comprehensive and collaborative effort in addressing rural stress in our communities.

What We Do

We come together monthly and meet about the rural stresses occurring within the
specified region, looking for spaces to market, training, educate and inform. We have a very specific tagline to keep us focused, “Do you look after your neighbors as close as your crop or herd?”

From that we have formulated a programcalled the Colorado Hay Initiative. It oversees several products that include how to build successful grassroots rural advisory
movements, guidance around

  • Safe Storage & Firearm Safety
  • Soil Health & Mental Health: Growing Together
  • COMET: A mental well-being program to help us check on our family and friends

What We Need

We are always looking for individuals and businesses to help us in spreading our message, and dedicate their time, logo, and available space when applicable to looking after their neighbors. Attending and advocating for various mental health trainings, promoting events, and committing to addressing rural stress with us is all we ask! As a partner, we will add your logo to local marketing efforts with your permission
