Dr. Heidi S. McMillan, MD

Dr. Heidi McMillan is a board-certified pediatrician with over two decades of experience providing compassionate, comprehensive care to children from infancy through adolescence. Practicing at Pagosa Integrated Healthcare in Pagosa Springs, Colorado, she is dedicated to delivering whole-child pediatric care that integrates physical, behavioral, and developmental health.

Dr. McMillan’s clinical expertise includes preventive care, immunizations, developmental and behavioral assessments, and telehealth services. Her philosophy centers on the belief that every child and family deserve access to exceptional care—an approach that led her to embrace an integrated care model combining pediatrics with family medicine and behavioral health.

A graduate of Georgetown University, Dr. McMillan earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology while competing in Track and Field. Her early work as a teacher for children with autism inspired her to pursue a career in pediatrics. She earned her medical degree from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine in 2002 and completed her pediatric residency at Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Dr. McMillan began her career in rural Utah, serving in the National Health Service Corps from 2005 to 2011, where she provided pediatric care in a physician shortage area. She then moved to Durango, Colorado, where she practiced at Pediatric Partners of the Southwest from 2011 to 2020, developing an integrated care model focused on both prevention and intervention. In 2020, she became Medical Director for the Durango 9R School District, leading initiatives to address students’ behavioral health needs, including the creation of The Hub Therapeutic Day School. In addition, Dr. McMillan has been serving families in Pagosa Springs, continuing her mission to expand access to pediatric care in rural communities.

She is known for her personalized approach, clear communication, and dedication to improving child health outcomes. Her patients consistently rate her care with five stars on Healthgrades. Dr. McMillan is currently accepting new patients.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. McMillan enjoys exploring new destinations and spending time outdoors with her husband and family.
