Located in Durango, Colorado, the Regional Crisis Center provides urgent behavioral healthcare for the Western Slope. We work closely with hospitals, therapists near you, emergency services, and law enforcement to get people the urgent help they need in the most appropriate setting.
Upon arrival, a mental health professional from Axis Health System will welcome you and conduct an initial assessment to determine the ideal care plan. The Acute Treatment Unit (ATU) provides individuals aged 18 and older with short-term, around-the-clock care as a beneficial alternative to hospitalization.
Withdrawal Management (Detox)
The Regional Crisis Center can be an alternative to a hospital emergency room or even jail for someone who needs urgent mental health or Withdrawal Management (Detox) and Substance Use Treatment. If it is determined that someone needs to stay overnight in our Crisis Stabilization Unit, visitors are typically allowed for one hour a day. Staff can advise on the best time for your loved one.
