This new service includes five dedicated observation beds within the Walk-In Crisis (WIC) area. Axis provides withdrawal management protocols for up to 23 hours to ensure immediate stabilization and assessment locally. For individuals requiring longer withdrawal management, Axis conducts clinical assessments, coordinates referrals to other facilities, arranges transportation, and provides a warm handoff when possible. Additionally, the Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) can admit Emergency Commitment (EC) patients, expanding local treatment options and reducing unnecessary transfers. Key points include:
