During LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in June, Axis Health System was proud to support the Four Corners Rainbow Youth Center by sponsoring the Super Pride event on June 26 at Buckley Park in Durango. The  fundraiser supports local LGBTQIA+ youth.

An Axis team hosted an educational booth at Super Pride. “I think it was so important that Axis was there, and that people know we’re here for them. We are allies,” said Sadie Prather, Community Outreach Specialist with the Axis Community Counseling Assistance Program (CCP).

The team also offered information on the Title X Sexual Health & Family Planning program at Durango Integrated Healthcare, and shared fun games and prizes with the attendees.

“This was such a great opportunity to connect with people and share information about our services and programs,” said Prather.

During the Super Pride event, the team presented an interactive collage project called “Let’s Talk About Sex.” It encouraged attendees to share in three words or less, “What does sexual health mean to you?” The activity helped spread awareness about Axis Health System’s Sexual Health & Family Planning program, which is offered in La Plata and Archuleta counties. The program provides affordable birth control and reproductive healthcare to all people regardless of religion, race, color, national origin, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender expression, number of pregnancies or marital status.

The Sexual Health & Family Planning Program is available through appointments at Durango Integrated Healthcare (970.335.2288) and Pagosa Springs Integrated Healthcare (970.264.2104)
