Community Health Center
The Durango Oral Health Clinic is one of Axis Health System's three federally designated Community Health Center (CHC) sites. CHCs are located in medically underserved areas throughout the nation. CHCs make comprehensive primary care accessible to all people regardless of insurance status and improve the health of the whole community. The Durango Oral Health Clinic is supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of an award totaling $2,258,803 or 35.6% of the total operating funds for the three sites financed with non-governmental sources.
Our care team
At the Durango Oral Health Clinic, our care team takes an active role in your health and well-being. The clinic is the hub for oral healthcare across our locations. We can provide your care or get you to the appropriate community provider through referral. Learn more about our dentists, Dr. Blake Brown, DDS and Dr. Amanda Brown, DDS. The two dentists are not married or related. Patients may request "Dr. Blake" for Dr. Blake Brown, or "Dr. Brown" for Dr. Amanda Brown.
Your care options
- Dental screenings
- Oral hygiene instruction
- Sealants to help prevent cavities
- Emergency and restorative treatment, such as fillings and crowns
We welcome all ages and encourage early care for children – starting with the first tooth. This clinic is a key resource for adults with Medicaid or who do not have dental insurance.
We also have an Oral Healthcare Coordinator to make sure you're aware of all care options available to you. As part of our whole person care approach, we also check in with you about key behavioral health or primary care needs you may have, and offer care options for you to choose from.
Now accepting new patients
We welcome new patients, and offer a variety of payment options. We accept Medicaid, CHP+ and people without dental insurance, and offer a sliding-fee scale for those who qualify. We accept all patients at the Durango Oral Health Clinic, but do not accept dental insurance at this time. If you would like to receive care, and you do have dental insurance, we will collect the charge from you and then we will give you what you need to file for reimbursement from your insurance company.
